What inspired you to join the team here?
Joining the team at Silverstone Communications was driven by Geri's inspiring vision to become the go-to stakeholder engagement consultancy. Our work aligns perfectly with my strengths in communication and adaptability.
What do you love most about your job?
The best part of my job is the diversity of projects, from housing developments to major infrastructure. It all requires effective communication and ensuring clients understand the importance of listening, engaging, and learning.
What do you think is the most important skill that a successful professional needs to have?
The key skill for success? Understanding your audience/client and communicating effectively and adaptably to resonate with them.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Beyond work, I'm a devoted Brighton & Hove Albion fan, an enthusiastic golfer, and love watching sports. I'm deeply involved in local politics and cherish helping residents in my community.
What is a dream that you want to make come true one day?
Travelling more is my dream, and I'd like to explore India, go on Safari, visit the Norwegian Fjords, and experience Penguin Town in South Africa.
Who are some of your biggest influences?
My dad was my biggest influence, a proud and quietly witty man with a great smile.
What type of books/movies do you enjoy?
Historical fiction, especially C.J. Sansom's Shardlake series, and favourite movies like Grease, Forrest Gump, and Top Gun. Music-wise, Queen, U2, The Kaiser Chiefs, and Neil Diamond are my go-tos.
What are some books or articles that you’ve read recently?
Recently, I couldn't put down "Shantaram" by David Gregory Roberts.
What are some of your favourite local spots to visit?
I adore my Sussex home with the South Downs and the sea nearby. Brighton & Hove is my go-to spot, enjoying bars, restaurants, and Casa Don Carlos in the Lanes.
What is the best thing that has happened to you this year?
This year, I had the privilege of attending the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace and serving as Best Man at a dear friend's wedding, both unforgettable experiences.
What industry changes or trends do you think will have the biggest impact?
In the industry, community involvement and engagement are on the rise, emphasised by the Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill consultation. Listening, engaging, and consulting early will lead to better results.
What is your favourite food?
As for food, salmon and mushrooms are my favourites, though not together!
